Sclerotherapy treatment Tulsa

Sclerotherapy is a treatment for the removal of spider veins and smaller varicose veins. During the procedure the veins to be treated are injected with a chemical sclerosant which irritates the vessels' lining causing them to inflame, harden, and eventually fade away.

Anesthesia is not required since the injecting needle is very small causing patients to feel minimal or no pain. A minor stinging or burning sensation is common during and right after the injections are made, but is short lived. After the procedure the patient's leg is then bandaged and compressed. Compression is worn for approximately two weeks. It is common practice for the patient to require several sessions separated by four to six weeks to significantly improve the appearance of their leg veins. Walking is encouraged during this time period.
